The Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing, creating, testing, and implementing PLC programs and HMI builds required to control automated equipment. Able to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and lead controls projects throughout their life cycle.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Solve electrical engineering problems from component through system level.
  • Provide engineering and technical support for the sales, procurement, manufacturing and field service teams.
  • Work with design and manufacturing teams to achieve project schedule delivery.
  • Create schematics and panel layout drawings based on a sound working knowledge of electrical theory and industry practice.
  • Generate PLC ladder logic with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable using existing programming standards
  • Generate aesthetic HMI screens for complex machinery that provide sufficient feedback for troubleshooting
  • Contribute to the development and review of documentation of new machine designs, including bill of material, drawings and operating manuals.
  • Troubleshoot existing /new panel wire connections and safety circuits as needed.
  • Some travel required to customer sites for field installations, support and debug.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3 + years’ experience as an Automation and Controls Engineer or Robotics Engineer focused on deploying automation and electromechanical systems in project-based environments. Experience in similar roles will also be considered.
  • Direct experience with the design and implementation of fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recovery
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of NEC/OSHA safety regulations and requirements.
  • Experience with Studio 5000 Logix Designer, View Designer, and FactoryTalk Optix is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint a must, familiarity with AutoCAD and Solidworks Electrical is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Quality and precision focused with the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Experience with FANUC, Kawasaki, and/or Yaskawa robot programming is preferred
  • The ideal candidate is innovative, detail-oriented, and driven to push the boundaries of automation technology
  • Knowledge of SQL would be an added bonus.
