Founded in 2000, CRG Automation specializes in the custom engineering of automated solutions for the packing, assembly, material handling and manufacturing industries. Located in Louisville, KY. Our highly experienced team of engineers, fabricators, machinists and electrical controls specialists work closely together to fully execute design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and implementation.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ability to design custom automated systems for various environments from the ground up while operating within cost and labor constraints.
- Collaborate with Applications Engineering team, Sales, and others to establish plan for project feasibility and direction to success.
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components for integrated solutions, ensuring compatibility with project requirements and specifications.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed designs, drawings, and models of mechanical components, assemblies, and structures.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews to evaluate the viability and effectiveness of proposed mechanical solutions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, shop technicians and project managers, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to convey technical requirements, project timelines, and design considerations.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the engineering team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or 10+ years of relevant field experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on machine/ system design, development, and integration.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and occasional use of simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful completion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Master’s degree in Business Administration, or other advanced degree
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on machine/ system design, development, and integration.
- Experience working in a custom automation integrator or machine builder environment
- Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers within team to grow and develop talent within an organization.
