1,550% Revenue Growth Lands CRG Automation Back-to-Back Rankings on Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Private Companies

Company leads repeat honorees among both manufacturing and Kentucky-based firms

AUGUST 16, 2022LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — Inc. magazine today ranked custom engineering and automation integration firm CRG Automation as No. 387 on its annual list of America’s 5,000 fastest-growing private companies. CRG Automation achieved the ranking by recording 1,550% revenue growth over the past three years. That rapid growth earned the Louisville-based company a second straight high ranking on the prestigious list. CRG Automation also led repeat honorees in both manufacturing nationally and all Kentucky-headquartered businesses.

The honor is among many for CRG Automation in recent months with the company being recognized by the following:

* Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas and annual list of Most Innovative Robotics Companies
* No. 172 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500
* No. 14 on the Vet100 ranking of fast-growing veteran-owned businesses
* Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville

In just the past two years, CRG Automation has grown its team five-fold, attracting top talent by offering a rewarding work environment. Employees enjoy intellectual challenges on a daily basis as they solve customers’ most perplexing problems.

“It’s the intriguing nature of our work, as well as our customer-focused approach, that has helped us achieve this level of growth,” said CRG Automation President James DeSmet. “I’ve led industry leaders both big and small over my career and to see a company both sustain and expand this level of growth speaks so greatly to the dedication of my colleagues here.”

Founded in 2000 as a company manufacturing packaging equipment, including cartoners and case packers, CRG Automation now focuses primarily on advanced offerings such as robotic integrations and custom design-build equipment. While the company continues to offer packaging equipment, CRG Automation’s business model shift has taken place as repeat customers approached with more and more complex problems, leading the company’s team of engineers — with specialties such as mechanical, process and electrical — to devise custom engineered solutions, often incorporating advanced robotics.

CRG Automation’s 1,550% revenue growth far outpaced the median average of 230% among Inc. 5000 honorees, which collectively generated $318 billion in revenue and 1.2 million jobs, according to Inc.’s analysis of the companies. The annual list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment — its independent small businesses. Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft, Patagonia and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.
